• First Visit (FAQ)

If you’re thinking of checking us out one Sunday, here are a few common questions you may want to be answered in advance.

What denomination is Christ Community Church in Selinsgrove PA?
We belong to the United Methodist Church.

What style of preaching can I expect?
Sermons at Christ Community UMC are Bible-based, relevant, and easy to understand.

What style of music do you play?
We recognize that tastes in music vary for every person. Christ Community UMC is blessed to be able to offer two very similar worship services with two distinctly different types of music.

Our 8:30 worship utilizes Christian “Pop” or contemporary music. The space for worship is intentionally less formal, and our Praise Team leads us in singing praise to God.

Our 11:00 worship utilizes traditional hymns of the Christian faith, including hymn responses such as the Gloria Patri and the Doxology. The space is more formal. The pastor robes and the piano and Chancel Choir all aid in leading the congregation in worship.

    What’s the Same?
The sermon, formal prayers, and the basic liturgy (or format) is the same at both services.

    What should I wear?
Dress comfortably. You’ll feel right at home wearing anything from shorts to jeans to business casual.

What do you offer for adults?
We offer a variety of classes on Sunday mornings from 9:45 to 10:45 for all ages, and adult small groups/service opportunities throughout the week. Additionally, we offer child-specific ministry with our Awana and Youth Programs.

What do you offer for children?
Children are always welcome to participate in worship! Some Sundays, a special Children’s Message is given to help children feel welcome during worship and relate to the sermon topic. However, our nursery is also available during worship services for parents to take their children under 5.
