    Our Mission

    We are a body of Christ in love and support for all persons in our congregation.

    Our Vision

    To care for the friend or stranger in our midst is to care for Jesus Christ himself.

    "The Lord bless you and keep you;
    the Lord make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
    the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

    Numbers 6:24-26

    Our Purpose

    The purpose of the Congregational Care Team ministry is to provide and organized way of caring for member's needs by: nurturing the body, mind and spirit in health and illness; equipping members to serve each other; praying for and with each other; assisting in providing care and compassion to our CCUMC members and their families.

    The model for care comes from Jesus himself, who spent much of his ministry healing the sick, feeding the hungry and turning the world upside down with the depths of God's mercy. Jesus says, "Blessed are those who are merciful...blessed are those who mourn...blessed are those who are poor in spirit..." These are the people who will receive mercy, be comforted and who will receive the kingdom of God.

    What do the Care Team members (who could be anybody) actually do when they show care?

    They visit, listen, remember, make phone calls, pray, send cards, share holy communion in the home and try to make connections that help to meet needs. The list goes on when needs are made known.

    We believe that in these and other acts of caring, we encounter the live God in ways that reach far beyond our imagination or expectations.
