• Children

Christ Community UMC understands that children are not only the future but also the present of the church. Studies show that most people make a faith commitment between the ages of four and fourteen. With so many activities competing for your child’s time, we know that we have a few precious years to build a strong foundation and we want to make every moment count.

Children are warmly welcomed into Christ Community’s church life. We offer many dynamic programs for children to learn about Jesus and apply what they learn. We emphasize excitement and fun as we help kids build an unshakable faith in a safe, loving environment.

We welcome and encourage children to attend worship services with their families. It is by watching worshiping adults that children learn to worship. Children will model the behavior they see as they grow.

    Nursery

If needed, parents are welcome to use the nursery for all children under 5.

    Seasonal Children’s Events

Throughout the year, a variety of additional activities are held for children including

    Spring: Easter Egg Hunt

    Summer: Vacation Bible School

    Fall: Fall Festival

    Winter: Gingerbread Bash

  • Children & Youth Clearances

CCUMC has established minimum standards for our ministries with children and youth. Our purpose for establishing these “Safe Sanctuaries” Policies and Procedures is to demonstrate our absolute and unwavering commitment to the physical safety and spiritual growth of all our children and youth.

To ensure “Safe Sanctuaries” at CCUMC, all employees and volunteers working with children and youth at CCUMC will be expected to obtain the required clearances and complete the online training course through the Ministry Safe program. The clearances and online training are good for five years.

If you are interested in volunteering or find yourself working with children or youth at CCUMC and are unsure if you have the appropriate clearances or have any questions, please contact Sabrina Sickle, CCUMC Safe Sanctuary Coordinator at 570-898-5957 or email ccumcministrysafe@gmail.com.
